‘Interlude:Actuate’at Priceless 2010

faernworks presents a new installment of 'Interlude:Actuate' at Priceless, compliments of the False Profit, llc

My offering for Priceless 2010 ( http://priceless.false-profit.com/ ) as an extremely grateful grant recipient ( http://priceless.false-profit.com/art/ ) is the second installment of my mixed media project ‘Interlude:Actuate’( http://interlude-actuate.com/ )

Changing the presentation in order to access a more fragmented perception, as well as incorporating new materials added the sought after puzzle atmosphere to the creation process- “it’s like taking your life apart, and putting it back together again”- became quite invigorating for me.

you can see some “working” pics here, taken with my phone

it’s often said life is like a puzzle, lots of pieces to put together- this way and that way- no one really telling you that they all work in some way together, until one day you just get it, because such is life. assimilating this idea with the continuing exploration of the ways in which we bind ourselves, and how we can create freedom in that space. there are things that we impress on ourselves intentionally, whether we realize these are beneficial or not, they are lessons nonetheless- an integral part of passing through, moving forward and activating a new part of our growth.

‘Interlude:Actuate’has many future facets to be addressed – but for now i have started with connected ‘yoga’postures as not only a visual medium, but as a reminder- we do these things to ourselves in all sorts of ways- making all kinds of choices all day long that play a part in our binding process- whether this leads us to freedom is our work- and by using the human body to represent this completed circuit  i am hoping for a greater link into the other forms of taking a pause- an interlude- and how that leads us to moving forward, or leads us to actuate.

each piece takes on its own life as they are created, and by hanging these in an outdoor setting to solidify the bond to the natural world- they will again take on a new part of their lives at artwork. these pieces revisit my artistic past at the same time as illustrating the sporadicness of life, its connections  and my present being.

by placing them in nature, i leave behind my own old patterns

How do YOU Interlude?

How does that help YOU Actuate?
